Description of Entry:

METAS Hong Kong Ltd., established in 2014, is a manufacturer for providing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) educational tools and curriculum for K-15 students. Its brand “METAS” is an acronym of Mathematics, Engineering, Technology, Arts, and Science education, representing the company’s philosophy of product design and innovation. The company aims to provide a fun, challenging and teamwork-based learning environment for children. Its goal is to nurture children with the ability in creativity, problem solving, critical thinking and collaboration so to equip themselves in facing their future challenges.

METAS IO Bits, the company’s core hardware, are intelligent electronic modules ranging from basic electronics to programmable units which can easily be connected together by magnets to form various circuits in second. The company offers a series of retail products for K-15 children. Using the elementary IO Bits, children can build and power up their fascinating models such as robotic dinosaurs, remote control vehicles, motorized cars easily. They are used to inspire and motivate children to think innovatively and to create their imaginary world.

In addition, the company offers a set of STEM curriculum bundled together with its IO Bits. Its STEM curriculum covers basic electronic concept, making and building skill, kids coding and IOT education for K-15 students. The programmable IO Bits are compatible with open hardware such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi. They can be used for prototyping and teaching kids coding with open source Scratch, Apps Inventor II computer languages. The METAS curriculum can be adapted to either regular school courses or extra-curricular activities.
